When you are a yoga beginner, you want to know more about your chosen form of exercise. We all know that exercise is essential for our bodies to become not only healthy but fit as well. And exercise comes in different forms and it is based on our preference which type of exercise we want to choose. Some prefer sports, belly dancing, or martial arts; but a lot of people prefer yoga.
If you are one of those people who are just starting out with their yoga exercise, here are some things about yoga that you probably did not know yet, or you would love to add to your growing knowledge about this topic.
1. Hot YogaLet us face it; we all want to lose some of that excess weight our bodies have accumulated over the years. If you really want to lose fat, why not try hot yoga? Based on how it is called, hot yoga involves doing exercises in a room whose temperatures are increased to about one hundred degrees Fahrenheit. This allows you to sweat off that fat so you can focus more on getting leaner and more toned muscles.
2. Power YogaAre you more of an adventurous person? Do you seek the thrill rather than calm and peacefulness of your environment? If so, then this type of yoga is for you. This involves doing a lot of yoga poses in a short time interval so it really challenges you to act faster and help your body balance.
A lot of instructors do not recommend this for beginners but if you really want to try this out, it is best to consult a yoga master before starting out with the course.
3. Slow YogaWhen it comes to beginners, this type of yoga is best for them because it employs slow actions to come up with yoga poses. More commonly known as Iyengar yoga, it focuses more on allowing the student to learn about the different actions of his or her muscles and letting them learn how each pose is done through a detailed process. If you are only starting out, you may want to try this out. Just make sure to bring your yoga mats and blocks that may be needed during the exercise.
4. Stretch YogaOtherwise known as Vinaya, this type of yoga employs the methods of stretching, allowing the students to feel an aggressive pull on their muscles as they perform the activities. If you prefer stretching as a part of your daily exercise simply because you want to improve flexibility, then this one is for you. As a yoga beginner, you might want to take it easy on the stretch, though; but nevertheless, you will enjoy each activity.
